Artist’s Statement
Born into a family rich in artists and musicians, it was only natural that I would follow the same path. As an artist I do not just look but I see.
There is art in light and shadow, in a broken chair from a long ago era and in a solitary pearl. My materials have a wide range. I use everything from fine soft leather to hand stitch a one of a kind baby doll to copper that is shaped with a hammer and anvil to create a bracelet.
Where my materials come from also have a wide range. Many of my gems come from Thailand yet I also use the lilac branches from my back yard.
The intention I have when creating art is to invoke emotion. It may be delight in sparkly jewelry or laughter in my glove sculptures or nostalgia in my dolls and Father Christmas.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoy my work.
